Object to the government’s ‘jet zero’ strategy and fight Leeds-Bradford Airport expansion

We are currently waiting for Secretary of State, Robert Jenrick, to announce whether he is going to ‘call in’ Leeds City Council’s decision to approve the expansion of Leeds-Bradford Airport and put it in front of a public inquiry.

The government has announced its new ‘Jet Zero’ draft strategy for the future of aviation. With its over-reliance on unproven future technology and its failure to accept the Climate Change Committee’s advice that aviation expansion must be stopped, this draft strategy is dangerous and reckless. It also has the potential to shape all aviation decisions in the UK for the foreseeable future.

We're supporting the Group for Action of Leeds-Bradford Airport in their campaign against the expansion of LBA, and they have asked for our urgent help to help fight Jet Zero.

Please would you consider doing one (or all) of the actions below…

●Respond to the consultation before 8 September

●Write to your MP about the problems with Jet Zero

●Write to the newspapers about the problems with Jet Zero

Clearly you will have your own thoughts and ideas in response to the consultation. However we have also produced a set of guide responses, should you find that helpful.

If you go to the Take Action page on GALBA’s website www.galba.uk/take-action you will find everything you need to do in order to do those three things.

This link https://www.galba.uk/jet-zero-consultation takes you directly to the guide responses and the email address to send them to.
